Sleeping Giant
by Melissa
Break children into 4 teams. Each child on each team then numbers themselves off - 1,2,3,4,5 etc. Each team will now have a number 1, a number 2, etc. etc. Place 3 bean bags in the middle of the playing field/gym, and each team in a corner of the field/gym. The adult calls out a number and that child from each team runs towards the beanbags. The children then take either one, 2, or all of the beanbags from the center, and tries to get them back to their team line. If one of the kids doesn't have a bean bag (there will always be at least one), he has to chase a child who does have a bean bag and tag them before they get to their safe team line. The child who was tagged must drop their beanbags where they were touched, and the two then attempt once again to grab the bean bags and take them back to their team without being tagged. Each bean bag safely returned to the team is worth one point. After each round the bean bags are placed back in the center and the adult then calls out a new number to start the next round.
